Title: Rock Courtship
Author: Nalini Singh
Series: Rock Kiss #1.5

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon

A drummer for the hottest rock band on the planet, David has a single, powerful weakness: Thea, the band's publicist and the woman who steals his breath away with her every move.
Only problem is, Thea doesn't date clients--or musicians. Emotionally scarred by a cheating ex, she's not about to risk her heart with a man who has groupies buzzing around him like flies. Even if his sexy smile ties her up in knots.
What she doesn't know is that David is a one-woman man...and he's madly in love with her. David's determined to prove he's worth the risk, and willing to court her, step by exquisite step. Thea's about to discover just how long and hard this handsome drummer can play.
Just WoW!

I thought this series couldn't get any better but apparently I was so wrong (Thank God!).

In Rock Addiction we got to see Fox and Molly's story but it was also the book that Thea, Molly's sister and the band's managed and David, the band's drummer began to fall in love.

Rock courtship tells us how these totally different characters found each other. The book picks up where the previous book left off.

Thea may be the band's manager but she knows that if she wants to be taken seriously she better keep her distance. David is the total opposite from her. Once upon a time he may have admited his fellings to Thea but after been shot down he knows he must take another approach. And he does..

Thea believes that she deserves some time off after working so hard for the band. While on vacation though she can't but keep an eye on the band and that's when she gets the first memo. David won't quit until he gets his HEA. So, it begins. Thea and David exchange a lot of memos in which they argue why they should be a couple. They memos start to get so hot that they both anticipate the time they meet again. And when they do, sparks begin to fly...

Even before reading the book, we do know some info about Thea and David but we don't know the info that really matters. If you've read the previous book then you must be surely wondering why Thea is so cold and avoids men and many other questions. This book will answer those questions. Actually the book provides more than answers. It gives us a lot of background on Thea and David and their families as well. I thought that I knew all about the band in the first book but after reading Rock courtship I feel like I knew nothing.

I really loved this book but there were times that the flow was very slow. This book is a novella, which means it's a lot smaller than an actual book so I excepcted a lot of action and less background. It's not that I didn't appreciate the background but I really wanted to see more action for Thea and David.

Despite that, I had no other problem with the book. As the previous book there was a major twist that almost ripped Thea and David apart but by then, they already trusted each other so there wasn't any big drama.

What I loved the most were the incredible memos they sent to each other. Eveytime I read one, I'd feel their passion, loneliness, anger and their happiness in the end.

As always, Nalini is one of my favourite authors and I absolutely recommend this book (especially if you've read book one).

Review: Reasonable Doubt Full Series (Reasonable Doubt #1-3) by Whitney Gracia Williams

Title: Reasonable Doubt Full Series
Author: Whitney Gracia Williams
Series: Reasonable Doubt #1-3

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

My cock has an appetite.

A huge and very particular appetite: Blonde, curvy, and preferably not a fucking liar...(Although, that's a story for another day.) As a high profile lawyer, I don't have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online.

My rules are simple: One dinner. One night. No repeats.

This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less.

At least it was, until "Alyssa"...She was supposed to be a 27 year old lawyer, a book hoarder, and completely unattractive. She was supposed to be someone I shared law advice with late at night, someone I could trust with details of my weekly escapades.

But then she came into my firm for an interview--a college-intern interview, and everything fucking changed...

*SERIES REVIEW*

“I believe you and I are currently in an unfortunate web of deceit.”

Andrew Hamilton hates lies. Being a successful lawyer and a man that no body denies ever anything, Andrew is anything but honest himself. The last few years he's dedicated to his career, never seeking something more for himself than meaningless one-night stands. His only goal is to satisfy his needs (and his partner's) and if he can avoid the drama, even better.

Enter Aubrey Everhart (aka Alysa). Aubrey is a woman who is trying to balance her life between satisfying her parent's dreams and her own. All Aubrey ever wanted was to become a professional ballarina. All her parents ever wanted for her was to become a lawyer. So between struggling to fulfil both dreams, Aubrey needs some help. And who better help an upcoming lawyer than a successful layer.

Andrew and Aubrey first meet online. Aubrey needs help with her assignment while Andrew seeks the flavor of the night. He immediately becomes intrigued with her as she's the only woman who refuses him so fiercely. The more they interact the more attached they become. But when Aubrey and Audrew finally meet, their lies catch up to them...

This series was something new for me. I don't usually read series like this one but it was totally worth it. The story had a nice flow, which was the factor that worried me the most. Each book continues the story of the first book and cannot stand alone (or read as unique). In other words, the series contains three books that complete one story (it's not an actuall series but a story cut in three parts).

The main characters had quite a chemistry. Their physical attraction was hot, hot, hot. I really liked Aubrey becasue she makes it clear from the very beginning that she just doesn't do the one night thing. Andrew one the other hand, was a man who didn't know what he desired. Really! He made it clear that he hated lies when he himself was a total lie and he tried so hard to convince Aubrey that their "relationship" was nothing to him and she only gets one night when in the end he was the one running after her. I don't know, he completely confused me. Until I read book 3. Book 3 makes everything clearer.

While you read the first two books, you will often ask yourself why is this man the way he is and what happened to him to make him like this?! Well, since the last book is already out, you won't have to wait to get your answer. I guess sometimes the truth is really hard.

Reasonable doubt was a nice great series. I may not have loved Andrew but I definitely understood the reasons he acted as he did and I think that he was very strong to have survived something so dramatic. Despite everything though, I loved the writing and the way the author chose to present to us Andrew and Aubrey's story!!

Highly recommended!!!

Review: Lead (Stage Dive #3) by Kylie Scott

Posted on Monday, September 22, 2014 3:05 PM

Title: Lead
Author: Kylie Scott
Series: Stage Dive #3

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble.

Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.
“The truth is, I’m all about you, Lena. You’re my best friend. You’re my girl.”

Ever since reading Play I've been really anxious to read this one. Lead is the fourth book in the Stage Dive series and tells the story of Jimmy, lead singer of Stage Dive and David's brother and Lena, his "assistant".

Jimmy has royally messed up and after his brother's warning he knows that he only has one more chance or his out of the band. In order to stay clean, the band decides to hire an assistant or just a person to help him stay clean and that's when Lena comes in. Lena has familly issiues which makes her decision to help Jimmy a lot easier. Lena has to live with Jimmy and keep him in line 24/7. But as they spend more and more time together the boundaries between their professional relationship begin to blur...

Just WOW. This book was just so different from the other books in the series. Lena was the best heroine in the series. That girl just rocked. She was so confident, smart, sassy, strong and I loved how she handled Jimmy. She never let him him get away with anything and Jimmy had some big huge issiues. So, yeah, Lena was the perfect candidate for the job. Despite everything though, Lena is completly honest with Jimmy. When she felt that her feelings might get in the way she decided to quit. But Jimmy being Jimmy convinced her to start dating other guys in order to get over him. But as Lena starts dating other guys Jimmy realizes that he may have just lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

Jimmy isn't your typical rockstar either. He might have made a few (huge) mistakes but that's all behind him. He exercises, being healthy and left the past behind him. Jimmy doesn't trust many people but with Lena things are different. With her he can be his true self. He doesn't hide anything from her. That's what I really admired about them, how honest they both were with each other.

All in all, the book was amazing!!! Actually every book in the series has been amazing but this one was just unique! It was filled with romance, lots of humor and I really got the characters. I can't wait for Ben's book.

Totally recommended!!!

Review: Rival (Fall Away #2) by Penelope Douglas

Title: Rival
Author: Penelope Douglas
Series: Fall Away #2

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Madoc and Fallon. Two estranged teenagers playing games that push the boundaries between love and war…
She’s back. For the two years she’s been away at boarding school, there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.
I was stupid then, but now I’m ready to beat her at her own game…
I’m back. Two years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he’s better than me.
But I won’t be scared away. Or pushed down. I’ll call his bluff and fight back. That’s what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he’ll never know how much he affects me….
“My little rival. You think I can’t rise to the occasion in this game?”
Rival is the third book in the amazing Fall away series by Penelope Douglas. Rival tells the story of Madoc, Jared's bff and Fallon, his step-sister.

Ever since their parents decided to marry, Fallon and Madoc have hated each other profoundly. Little do they know thought, that behind their hatred, lies something more pure. They should have never crossed that line though. Once they did, everything crushed down..

Fallon and Madoc gave in their attraction and became lovers despite being step-siblings. In the beginning they tried to keep their relatioship a secret but in the end they weren't as smart as they thought. Their parents seperated them by sending Fallon away while Madoc stayed home. And as if being apart wasn't enough they fed them lies about each other, trying to poison their feelings.

But now everything has changed. Fallon is back and she seeks revenge from the people that hurt her and number one on her list is Madoc...

Madoc believes that Fallon has returned for a short time and the only thing he wants is to stay away from her. But as secrets are revealed and things become more clear, they both discover that their relationship was real, despite their parents' lies. But can they now have what was denied to the? Can they look over their rivalty?

Rival was an incredible book! I've been waiting to read Madoc's story for sooo long! Their story really broke my heart but I'm really happy their found their HEA. Their feelings for each other were so stong. They thought they hated each other while they couldn't be farther from the truth. I think that deep down they both knew that they loved the other but refused to acknowledge their feelings due to their rivalty. Fallon and Madoc were trully amazing characters. They both played the tought guys but the truth was that they both cared so deeply and thus everything hurt more!

All in all, Rival was very different from the first book in the series but it was really unique. I loved the main charcacters so much and I totally connected with them, which really helped me understand their perspective. I can't wait to read Jaxon and K. C.'s story in Falling away (due to 2015)

HIghly recommended!!!

Title: The Closer You Come
Author: Gena Showalter

New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter introduces the Original Heartbreakers, where three not-quite-reformed bad boys are about to meet the women who will bring them to their knees.
Just released from prison, Jase Hollister has only one goal: stay out of trouble. Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma, sounds like the perfect place for him and his two brothers-by-circumstance to settle down and live a nice, simple life. Model citizen isn’t exactly this rugged bachelor’s default setting—especially when it comes to a certain hot-blooded Southern beauty—but he's determined to play by the rules.
Brook Lynn Dillon has always been the responsible type. Not that it’s done her much good. The down-on-her-luck waitress is broke, single and wouldn’t know fun if it bit her. Or so she thinks. Jase makes bad look oh, so good. Dangerous, sexy and tempting as sin, he is everything she never knew she wanted. Passion sizzles between them, but is it enough to melt his resistance? After all, the right kind of trouble might be just what he needs…

This is a brand new series by Gena Showalter and I can't wait to read it!!!

Review: Be with Me (Wait for You #2) by J. Lynn, Jennifer L. Armentrout

Posted on Monday, September 15, 2014 7:23 AM

Title: Be with Me
Series: Wait for You #2

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.
Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.
As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

“I didn’t care about them. Not like I care about you, Tess. I want this- I want us to be different. I want us to mean more than sex. I need us to mean more than that. Okay?”
Be with me is the second book in the incredible wait for me series by J. Lynn. This book tells the story of Tess, Cam's little sister and Jase, Cam's bff.

Tess and Jase have known each other forever. Ever since Jase met her, he's been dreaming of having her. But he always knew she was off limits for him.

Tess could never forget her first kiss. Not because it was abso-fucking-lutely amazing (which it was) but because it was Jase kissing her. Tess has always had a little crush on her brother's best friend. Now that they are both on the same college campus it's much harder to keep their distance. So instead of persuing something more they become "friends". Jase offers to help Tess around since she has injured her knee which means spending more time together which means that "let's be friends" isn't really working for them. So they try for more...

Jase and Tess together are like fireworks! Really! In the beginning they tried to hide their relationship from the others (mostly Avery and Cam) and they succeeded but not for a very long time. Let's just say that Cam isn't very understanding that a ladies man like Jasse is "messing" with his sister. But for Jasse, Tess isn't just a another girl, she's unique. They were so amazing together!!! They both had to go through many obstacles but they managed to overcome them and be together.

One of the things I really loved was Jase's brother. He was just soooo cute and believe me he had a very important role to the book. I can't say I was really shocked when his role was revealed but it was still a surprise for me!

Once Jase and Tess had no secrets between them they were HOT! They were such an amazing couple, really mature for their age but still after everything they had to go through, I think that was expected.

Be with me was another 5 star read for me! Filled with romance, a bit of suspense and a playboy Be with me will amaze you. I can't wait to read Stay with me, Calla's book. She really was an intriguing character.

As always a J. Lynn book is always highly recommended!!

Review: Opposition (Lux #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Posted on Friday, September 12, 2014 12:22 PM
2
Title: Opposition
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Lux #5

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

“It’s not like I’m going to run up and hug him.”

“I’d sure hope not. I might get jealous.”

“You’d get jealous if she hugged a tree,”

“Maybe...I’m needy like that.”

I can't believe that this is the end! Don't get me wrong I loved the book but I really didn't want this series to end...

Opposition begins where Origin left off. After the alien invension and the disappearance of Daemon, Dawson and Dee, Katy is trying to find a way to reconnect with them and guess what?! Katy gets her wish but things aren't as simple as before. Daemon doesn't want to fight his people but how can he not when they are all out of control and killing humans?! Maybe the arum were never the enemies and maybe the only way to save the earth is to finally cooperate with them...

This book had so much going on. It was packed with action (lots of it), suspense, humor and Daemon Black and his kitten. I think I'll never get over Daemon and his devotion. His love for Kat was never in question, at least for me. They were such a cute couple from the beginning of the series till the very end. So yeah, Daemon surely made it to my fav book boyfriends list!

This was trully an epic series and not only for Daemon and Kat but for the secondary characters as well. I really loved Dee although, at the beginning of the book her behavior was very confusing, Dawson and Beth were both amazing characters and I'm very glad they got they HEA, Archer I just adored and many other characters. I can say that I was very happy to see some very unexpected characters in this book such as Hunter and Serena!!! I don't want to spoil anything about their involvement in the book but I can say that they rocked (arum aren't always the bad guys!).

Obsidian was the very first book I read by Jennifer Armentrout and I can't belive that this journey has come to an end. I'm not going to say anything more because I really don't want to spoil the book for you. This final book is going to amaze you. It surely amazed me. Never saw that coming.

If you're new to the series then go pick it up. If you're debating whether or not to read the final book in the series then try to avoid the spoilers but really just read it as well. You have no idea what you're missing...

Goodbuy Daemon and Kat! I was great (actually more than great!)

I adored my teachers, although in the beginning I hated them. I can't say I was an easy kid. I was always pretty loud about my opinions(I don't do that anymore) and I always managed to get in trouble.

Wow... thinking back now I think I should apologise to my parents especially my mother!! I was soooo mean to her...

Erika

I was told that dreams were our heart’s desires. My nightmares, however, became my obsession.

His name is Michael Crist.

My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He is handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me.

But I noticed him.
I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid…For years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.

Now, I’ve graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven’t stopped watching Michael. He’s bad, and the dirt I’ve seen isn’t content to stay in my head anymore.

Because he’s finally noticed me.

Michael

Her name is Erika Fane, but everyone calls her Rika.
My brother’s girlfriend grew up hanging around my house and is always at our dinner table. She looks down when I enter a room and stills when I am close. I can always feel the fear rolling off of her, and while I haven’t had her body, I know that I have her mind. That’s all I really want anyway.

Until my brother leaves for the military, and I find Rika alone at college.

In my city.

Unprotected.

The opportunity is too good to be true as well as the timing. Because you see, three years ago she put a few of my high school friends in prison, and now they’re out.

We’ve waited. We’ve been patient. And now every last one of her nightmares will come true.
