Title: Keep
Author: Rachel Van Dyken

Expected publication: September 6th 2016
My name's shouted on rooftops.
It's written on bras, bathroom stalls, hell my name is everywhere. To say my name is to experience an orgasm without ever leaving your house.
My name?
Zane "Saint" Andrews.
I'm sex.
I'm a rock god.
I'm also a virgin.
What they don't know won't kill them right? Give the people what they want. And what they want is the idea of me; the pleasure they gain at listening to my song and knowing without a doubt I'm talking about them and only them.
It worked for a while.
Until a nerdy girl with glasses falls at my feet, literally, and suddenly I don't want to be Saint anymore, what I want? What I really need?
Is to be kept.
By her.
What are you waiting on Wednesday???

Review: The Devil In Disguise (Bad Things #1) by Cynthia Eden

Title: The Devil In Disguise
Author: Cynthia Eden
Series: Bad Things #1

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N
Don’t make the devil angry…

Luke Thorne loves having one hell of a good time. As the ruler of every dark creature to walk the earth, he certainly has more than a bit of a bad side. He lives for danger and isn’t the type to lose his heart—mostly because he doesn’t have one. Then she walks into his life.

Mina James is seduction in the flesh, a perfect temptation that the devil himself couldn’t pass up. Too late, Luke realizes he’s let a real siren into his life, a woman who is bent on using his dark powers to free herself from hidden enemies. Since Luke isn’t the type of man to be used, he should walk away from her, but…something about Mina draws him close.

Soon he’s realizing that she isn’t who she appears to be. Not dark and cold, but burning red hot. Mina is a woman fighting for her life—and the Lord of the Dark suddenly finds himself in an unlikely role…hero. Luke isn’t going to let her enemies destroy Mina. He will fight heaven and hell to keep her. But in the end, the secrets they both carry may just rip apart a love that should never have been…

There are Bad Things in the world…very, very bad. Are you ready for them?
Cynthia Eden’s new series is simply amazing!

This series features an abundance of paranormal and even mythological creatures. Judging from the first book, we are definitely in for a treat!

Mina James has a problem. Luke Thorne is her solution, or at least he is supposed to have her solution. Even though Mina knows what has to be done, approaching Luke isn’t exactly as easy as it sounds, not if the rumors she has heard are true. But Mina is running out of time and if she has to choose between Luke and death then approaching Luke doesn’t sound as bad.

Even from their first encounter Luke can tell there is more to Mina than she lets on but that certainly doesn’t stop him from getting closer. The closer he gets though; the sooner he realizes that her secrets might as well get the devil killed.

I truly love reading book by Cynthia Eden. I just love how she plays with the genres and we end up reading more than just a paranormal love story. The Devil in Disguise was a brilliant start to a series that will feature a variety of paranormal creatures. Luke was an incredible character and I loved his close friendship with Julian and Rayce, his bodyguards (? not that he needed bodyguards but they were damn good) I definitely hope we see more of them and of Luke’s brother, Leo as well.

ARC Review: Shadow Falling (The Scorpius Syndrome #2) by Rebecca Zanetti

Title: Shadow Falling
Author: Rebecca Zanetti
Series: The Scorpius Syndrome #2

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N | BookDepo
Before the Scorpius Syndrome tore through North America and nearly wiped out the population, Vivienne Kennedy was the FBI’s best profiler. The bacteria got her anyway. But she survived. She recovered. And when she woke up from a drug-nightmare of captivity, her skills as a hunter of men had gone from merely brilliant to full-on uncanny. Her mysterious rescuer wants her to put them to the test. But no matter how tempting he is, with his angel’s eyes and devil’s tongue, Vinnie knows she shouldn’t trust him.
If the FBI were still around they would rate Raze Shadow as one of the bad guys. His military training can’t wipe out his association with the Mercenaries, the most feared gang in a thousand miles. His loyalties are compromised. He won’t even tell Vinnie his real name. But there’s no FBI in the new America of fear and firepower, only instinct and risk.

And the way his arms wrap around Vinnie tells its own story. Whatever else Raze is concealing, he can’t hide his desire . . .
Shadow Falling was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

The book begins some weeks after the ending of Mercury Striking! Vivienne -aka Vinnie- is struggling to adjust, her nightmares and hallucinations surely do not help her situation. Fortunately, there’s something -someone – who does! Raze Shadow may be Vinnie’s savior but the man is far from a hero, not when he has his own agenda and especially not when his agenda goes against everything Jax Mercury stands for!

There were so many things going on this book! It was insanely good! We have Raze, who has his own agenda. Vinnie, who is trying to remain sane while at the same time trying to fit in this new society. Jax, who is facing some serious inner territory issues while also facing bigger threats from the surrounding gangs and the President himself. Lynn, who is struggling to come up with a cure without a proper lab. The President who is preoccupied with reorganizing the army while looking for opportunities to capture Lynn and Vinnie and so on! The book definitely offers variety!

I adored Raze! He was everything I thought he would be and he definitely lived up to my expectations! I actually really like all of the major characters so far, including those introduced in this book! I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Justice Ascending, Tace and Sami’s book, especially considering Sami’s real identity! I’m also very excited to see what’s going on between Maureen and Greyson, they can deny it all they want but there’s definitely something going on with them and it’s definitely going to be scorching HOT!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine and is where we can talk about books we are looking forward to being released.

Title: Under the Lights
Author: Abbi Glines

Expected publication: August 23rd 2016

In the follow-up to Abbi Glines’s #1 New York Times bestseller Until Friday Night—which bestselling author Kami Garcia called “tender, honest, and achingly real”—three teens from a small southern town are stuck in a dramatic love triangle.
Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her.
High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know.
Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can.
As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.

ARC Review: Hard Rules (Dirty Money #1) by Lisa Renee Jones

Title: Hard Rules
Author: Lisa Renee Jones
Series: Dirty Money #1

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N
Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in the smoldering, scorching first novel in the explosively sexy new Dirty Money series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.
How bad do you want it?
The only man within the Brandon empire with a moral compass, Shane Brandon is ready to take his family's business dealings legitimate. His reckless and ruthless brother, Derek wants to keep Brandon Enterprises cemented in lies, deceit, and corruption. But the harder Shane fights to pull the company back into the light, the darker he has to become. Then he meets Emily Stevens, a woman who not only stirs a voracious sexual need in him, but becomes the only thing anchoring him between good and evil.
Emily is consumed by Shane, pushed sexually in ways she never dreamed of, falling deeper into the all-encompassing passion that is this man. She trusts him. He trusts her, but therein lies the danger. Emily has a secret, the very thing that brought her to him in the first place, and that secret that could that destroy them both.
Another new series by Lisa Renee Jones!

It feels like a few months ago when I read my very first book by Jones, which by the way was a new series as well, and now I’m lucky enough to have gotten an ARC of yet another new series.

Hard Rules tells the story of Shane Brandon, a billionaire who is trying to keep his legacy from sinking and Emily Stevens, a woman on the run. Both have secrets that could get them killed but yet staying away from each other seems impossible.

The book started off great! We get a glimpse into Emily’s life before we get to see her literally running into Shane. Even from their first encounter you can feel the chemistry between them and I was very excited to see how that was going to develop. Their relationship was scorching HOT but there were times where Emily’s behavior became frustrating. She wanted Shane but she was also afraid that being with him might bring the person she’s running from to his door, which caused a lot of drama and uncertainty between them.

Hard Rules was just the beginning! We might have gotten but a glimpse into Emily’s life but we sure got a lot more information about the Brandon family and their messed up relationships.

I really liked the first book in the Dirty Money series, and the cover is to-die for as well, but be warned that it is a cliffhanger. If you get frustrated with them, I suggest you wait before starting the series.
