At twenty-two years old, Sydney is enjoying a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers that Hunter is cheating on her—and she’s forced to decide what her next move should be.
Soon, Sydney finds herself captivated by her mysterious and attractive neighbor, Ridge. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either. They soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one.
A passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance, Maybe Somedaywill immerse readers in Sydney’s tumultuous world from the very first page.
“Hey, heart. Are you listening? You and I are officially at war.” - Sydney
Colleen Hoover is a new author for me. A few months ago I read Hopeless and there was no turning back. I was hooked! As soon as I finished the Hopeless series I started reading her Slammed series and a month later I had read all of her books (published till August).

Maybe someday is an incredible book with a unique and brilliant storyline and equally amazing characters.

Sydney just turned 22 and she just got a big ugly surprise. Her best friend/roommate has been having an affair with her boyfriend for quite some time. Betrayed and angry, Sydney decides to leave their apartment only to realize that she has nowhere else to go. She refuses to seek help from her parents and so ends up depending upon her dreamy neighbor, Ridge.

Ridge is a musician, he plays the guitar but he has difficulty writing the lyrics to his songs. When he meets Sydney he is awed by her effortless ability to write lyrics to his songs. As they start working together a bond forms between them. They can’t deny their attraction but Ridge is already taken.

Maggie, Ridge’s girlfriend was such a wonderful person. Sydney and Maggie even become friends. What’s important to keep in mind while reading the book is that Ridge isn’t a player nor a cheater. He is in love with Maggie but he is also developing feelings for Sydney.

Sydney has been burned once by her cheating boyfriend and there is no way she’s going to be that woman. She genuinely likes Maggie and she would never do to Maggie what her best friend did to her.

Sydney and ridge both know where they stand. Sydney is honest with herself and with those around her while Ridge is extraordinary. He takes nothing for granted, he is loyal, funny, sweet and he cares about others.

Having read all of CoHo’s books in a row, I’ve come to realize that there’s always a twist to her stories. Maybe someday wasn’t different. We know nothing about other people until we hear their side of the story. Sydney doesn’t know Ridge at all and we don’t really know Maggie. The book is full of surprises.

The secondary characters are amazing as well. I loved Ridge’s best friend Warren and Bridgette, their female roommate. Although I couldn’t understand why Warren put up with Bridgette in the beginning, when I read Maybe Not everything made sense.

Maybe someday was a contemporary, realistic, emotional book with amazing characters and a roller coaster of a journey.

Highly recommended!
